Walk on UK’s tallest roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool, England: It’s the UK’s tallest roller coaster and it dominates the Blackpool skyline – and now is your chance to get a unique view of it!


Throughout 2016, guests will have a chance to walk up the lift hill of the world famous Big One roller coaster in a series of escorted climbs to a breathtaking height of 235ft.

For just £50 guests can walk up the 420 steps to the top of one of Europe’s biggest roller coasters and take in the stunning views from the summit of the 42-acre amusement park and beyond for miles around.

It is your chance to be the envy of your friends and family as you harness up and walk with five other guests – escorted at all times by experienced Big One operators – and climb into history!

The walks will take place on April 22nd, May 27th, June 24th, July 15th, September 23rd & 30th and October 14th & 21st and can be booked online in advance at www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com. Nick Thompson, Deputy Managing Director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, said: “The Big One is one of the most iconic roller coasters in the world. It was a world’s first for its sheer height and speed and we want to give riders an experience no other amusement park can give them.

“In previous years, these events have been hugely popular and because of this we have decided to continue them and allow even more visitors to enjoy stunning views of Blackpool and beyond and experience a completely different type of thrill on this iconic ride.”

Cost of Walking the Big One is £50 per guest; they can bring two spectators with them free of charge who will be able to watch from the ground. Harnesses and protective clothing will be provided by Blackpool Pleasure Beach but walkers must wear sensible shoes or boots. Minimum age of climbers is 12 and the minimum height is 1.32m. All walks are weather dependent and an alternative date will be offered if the climb has to be cancelled due to poor weather. All walkers must be physically fit and be required to sign a disclaimer.
