Middlebury, Connecticut: Guests at Quassy Amusement & Waterpark will be taking aim at a new state-of-the-art midway game when they visit the lakeside property this year, park officials announced today. Quassy has purchased a Top Glo 3 Water Race game from Bob’s Space Racers of Daytona Beach, Florida.
The 14-player game features individual stations for each contestant with a water gun and target assigned to each seat. As the target is hit by the stream of water, brilliant LED (light emitting diode) tubes are illuminated. The first player to have the column of light reach the top of the tube wins the game.
“This is the next generation of a popular midway game that has been in our industry for decades,” Quassy President Eric Anderson said of the acquisition. “It will be a fantastic family attraction and opens on all four sides, adding to the aesthetics of its colorful theming.”
The water race game will be located on the main thoroughfare near the Paratrooper ride as visitors enter the park.
Readying for its 109th season of operation, Quassy is also adding a new candy store titled Bella & Bessie’s Sweet Shoppe & Pizzeria. Homemade taffy will be among the items offered.
Two new children’s rides – Skipper’s Clippers and Up, Up & Away – will adorn the lakeside kiddieland. Both interactive rides will also accommodate adults.
The Quassy Quest Laser Maze in the redemption arcade is also receiving an upgrade with the addition of a Beam Buster program to its existing levels if play.
The park opens for the 2017 season on May 6.
For more than 40 years, Bob’s Space Racers has been providing games and management services for the arcade, park, and trailer industries throughout the world.
The Top Glo 3 Water Race game features patented LED-column technology.
