Ypres, Belgium: Bellewaerde theme park staff has recently recorded a lip dub video on the new attraction Dawson Duel.

A lip dub is a type of music video clip where actors lip sync the lyrics of songs in a playful manner. Such videos are generally recorded in high school surroundings with a large crowd and now for the first time in a theme park on an attraction.

About 80 park employees participated in the video including attraction operators, restaurant employees, technical staff as well as management.

The intention behind recording this video is to enhance the work environment and the spirit of unity of the park employees so that they can welcome the visitors of Bellewaerde with the biggest smile and the best service this season.

Initiatives like this have recently proven their value when Bellewaerde received the Diamond Themepark Award in April 2017 for park with the Best Service in Belgium for the second time in a row.

The Diamond ThemePark Awards are known as the Oscars of the Belgian and Dutch amusement parks. The awards are granted based on online votes and a professional jury.

Bellewaerde was established in 1954, is the oldest operating theme park in Belgium. Originally a zoo and safari, the park expanded in the early eighties to become more of a general theme- and thrillpark, catering towards teens and families. Spread in 54-hectare (130-acre) park is famous for its beautiful gardens, marvelous landscaping and its attention to theming. Bellewaerde is open for about seven months in a year, from April until October. Traditionally October is the month in which Bellewaerde’s yearly Halloween Event takes place. Since 2005 the park also opens in the winter for few weeks during the Christmas and New Year period.
