URAYASU, CHIBA—Tokyo Disney Resort® announced today that the total combined attendance at Tokyo Disneyland® Park and Tokyo DisneySea® Park during the first half of this fiscal year (April 1 to September 30, 2015) amounted to a figure of 14,372,000 persons (a decrease of 727,000 persons or 95.2% of the attendance figure for the same period last year). This is the third highest figure ever recorded for the first half of a fiscal year.
During the first half of this fiscal year, the new Tokyo Disneyland attraction “Stitch Encounter,” which opened on July 17, attracted Guests to the Park. The new Tokyo DisneySea musical show, King Triton’s Concert, presented from April 24, as well as a new Tokyo DisneySea special event, “Disney’s Easter,” proved to be highly popular. The special events, filled with seasonal elements held at the two Parks, were also well received by Guests.
As this year follows immediately after the opening year of Tokyo Disneyland nighttime entertainment “Once Upon a Time,” a decline in turnout was expected in the initial forecast for this fiscal year. In addition, the high number of rainy days and extremely high temperature during summer were also factors that resulted in the total combined attendance of 14,372,000 persons.
