Grand Prairie,Texas: Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the world’s largest regional theme park company, today released initial plans for Six Flags Dubai, which is scheduled to open in late 2019 in the second phase of the Dubai Parks and Resorts development initiative. Six Flags Dubai will feature record-breaking roller coasters, spectacular shows and interactive attractions synonymous with the Six Flags brand worldwide. Six Flags currently operates 18 parks across North America offering more than 830 rides, over 135 roller coasters, and dozens of shows that appeal to thrill-seekers of all ages including adults, teens, and families with children.

Guests will enter and exit the park through an impressive, state-of-the-art promenade. The fully air-conditioned area will offer a VIP mezzanine, space for private and catered events, along with an assortment of retail and food locations including a signature bakery and deli. Guests will have access to three attractions from inside the plaza and the park’s signature roller coaster will encircle the entire promenade.
Six Flags Dubai will be the first dedicated thrill park in the GCC. The intricately-themed park, designed in partnership with FORREC, will feature 27 rides and attractions, including best-in-class roller coasters, soaring tower rides, thrilling water slides, out-of-this-world virtual reality experiences, and a next generation 4-D interactive dark ride. When the sun sets, the park will come alive with spectacular lights dancing in the nighttime sky.

Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC is set to be the region’s largest integrated theme park destination comprising three theme parks: motiongate™ Dubai, a movie inspired theme park showcasing some of Hollywood’s most beloved characters from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate; Bollywood Parks Dubai, the first theme park based on the sights and sounds of Bollywood; as well as LEGOLAND Dubai, a unique, interactive theme park for families which will bring the well-known LEGO brick to life in a playful learning environment; and LEGOLAND Water Park, the region’s first water park catering to families with children 2-12.
The entire destination will be connected by Riverland™ Dubai – a retail, dining and entertainment walkway located at the heart of the destination and guests can stay at the Lapita™ Hotel, a Polynesian-themed resort catering to families, which will be managed by the Marriott Group.
Set to open in October this year, the AED 10.5 billion development is spread across 25 million square feet of land located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai opposite the Palm Jebel Ali. 6.7 million ticketed visits are projected for 2017, the first full year of operation.
