Berkshire, England: The 12 contestants of series 7 of The Great British Bake Off have joined 11cm LEGO recreations of judges, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry and presenters, Mel and Sue, in a 12,186 brick recreation of the smash hit series’ iconic set at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort. The line up of hopefuls will shrink weekly as the LEGO contestants are removed from the scene to mirror the results of the competition.
The Bake Off scene took the Resort’s talented Model Making team 86 hours to build and includes the main Great British Bake Off tent plus the judging tent, and as well as the judges and presenters also features LEGO versions of all of the previous winners – plus plenty of LEGO cakes. The team has paid close attention to detail and inside the tent are mini LEGO workstations, judging table and culinary gizmos galore.
“The Great British Bake Off has become such a British institution, we wanted to celebrate the summer and bring it to life in Miniland,” commented Senior PR Manager Lauren Moss. “The attention to detail is astonishing; it is amazing how much detail has been captured at 6cm high. Guests can see our Model Makers mini LEGO versions of some of the most memorable showstoppers from series 1-6 and to mirror the action on the show we will be removing contestants every week as they leave the competition.”
Miniland is one of the most popular attractions at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort bringing to life some of the world’s most famous landmarks in amazingly accurate miniature detail. The entire area features 12 scenes, created from 41 million individual bricks. The Bake Off scene will be in Miniland until November.
