Erie, Pennsylvania : Splash Lagoon is a 80,000 square feet Polynesian-themed indoor waterpark, open since 2003. TripAdvisor, in July, named Splash Lagoon in its national list of the Top 25 water parks. This family friendly place has 20 attractions, which includes Aqua Tumbler, Tree Tops Ropes Course, boutique bowling Lanes, and Lazer Tag attractions, so every age visitor can have fun.
More than two million guests have enjoyed this place, which includes nine water slides, pools, hot tubs, a 12-level interactive Tree House, a Tree Tops Ropes Course, 6,500 square foot Arcade with over 100 games, a state-of-the-art Lazer Tag facility, an Aqua Tumbler and Wild Waters Wave Pool. Splash Lagoon’s Cyclone ride is highly appreciated by the visitors. “The Cyclone is the most popular slide,” says Carrie Wakinekona, Director, Scott Enterprises . “It is a bowl slide that guests can ride down on a tube together. Guests swirl around inside the bowl towards the chute, so each time they ride, the Cyclone delivers a different experience.”
Aqua Tumbler added in 2013 is park’s signature attraction. A rotating plastic ball, that simulates being on a long water slide , can hold up to three park guests, rolling around for 90 seconds. “Our Aqua Tumbler attraction is unique to Splash Lagoon.” said Carrie Wakinekona . ” It is a 90 second ride of tumbling fun! We are the only indoor waterpark in the United States to offer this attraction.”
The best time to visit Splash Lagoon is in cold winter or rainy days advised Carrie Wakinekona, “Our loyal guests tell us they enjoy coming to the exciting, 84 degree, indoor waterpark resort during the cold winter, rainy days, or anytime they need a weatherproof, family getaway!”
The water park is connected to three hotels – Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Residence Inn, and Comfort Inn & Suites. It is also connected to Erie’s own Hooch and Blotto’s Sports Bar and Grill, which features eight state-of-the-art bowling lanes inside the restaurant. Overnight packages always include tickets to the water park. “Being a family-owned resort allows our team to create a welcoming, and affordable one day or overnight getaway year-round! ” added Carrie Wakinekona “Also, Erie, PA offers so many wonderful things to see and do, and is only a short drive from Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh. Our guests enjoy staying at the Splash Lagoon Resort’s three, connected hotels, and having a great family experience while they are enjoying a visit to Erie, PA!.”
