Gold Coast, Australia: Celebrate the Year of the Monkey this Chinese New Year with exciting festivities at Dreamworld from the 1st to the 15th February.
Transformed in to a Chinese market place right here on the Gold Coast, Dreamworld’s Main Street will be adorned with traditional Chinese themed decorations including lanterns and drums. The air will be rich with the scent of traditional sweet and spicy Chinese cuisine available from various food carts. Choose from an array of scrumptious food including dim sum selections, stir fried noodles, spring rolls and prawn toast. Billabong Restaurant will also be boasting a popular Chinese menu.
Monkey around with cheeky Kenny Koala and his beautiful Belinda in traditional Chinese dress from 10am throughout the park and strike a pose with DreamWorks Hero Po from Kung Fu Panda at 11.50am and 2.40pm in the Land of Awesomeness. Be amazed this new lunar year by Dreamworld’s looney magician roaming around with a monkey on his shoulder and lots of fun tricks.
Enter Dreamworld Cinema for special screenings of Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five from DreamWorks Animation and find out how Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Crane, and Viper learned to master the art of Kung Fu. Screenings of Secrets of the Furious Five will occur at 10.20am, 11.20am and 2.30pm daily for the length of the celebrations.
International guests will love traditional Australiana at the Dreamworld Woolshed with traditional Aboriginal face painting in Corroboree and Sheep Shearing shows in the Woolshed at 10.50am, 11.50am and 2pm.
