Media influencers invited to be a Rovaniemi Summer Ambassador!

Rovaniemi, Finland: In the summer of 2018, 21 Social media influencers, journalists, and new media journalists from across the globe will get a chance to explore Rovaniemi, in Finnish Lapland, for the #RovaniemiSummerAmbassadorcampaign.

Rovaniemi Summer Ambassadors will explore and experience summer life on the Arctic Circle!

This promotion is an invitation to experience and explore Rovaniemi, the Official Hometown of Santa Claus in the summertime. For three nights all visitors will get a chance to wander and marvel at white nights created by the midnight sun.

Approximately 500 applications have been received from around the world, including US, China, Hong Kong and Europe. Duration of application closes in one week on March 16, 2018, participants will be chosen by the end of March.

In June, July, and August, these 21 lucky ambassadors will reveal the extraordinary Arctic summer experiences of the famous winter holiday destination. Participants get the opportunity to explore three different experiences of changing nature from the summer months.

Ambassadors will get a private meeting opportunity with Santa at Santa Claus Village. They will also have a cultural pass to the city’s most important museums, and an authentic sauna experience.

Ambassadors will get a chance to experience a husky kennel tour, Midnight Sun photography tour, riverboat cruise, canoe trip and the possibility of visiting the Pyhä-Luosto National Park.

Rovaniemi, famous as a winter holiday destination, is a city of many to natural events. With prolonged polar nights in winter, Sun remains under the horizon from November to late December.

But summer season is quite the opposite as the sun never sets, covering the city with white summer light. In summer, we guarantee 24/7 light and a cool atmosphere. The campaign takes place in June, July, and August in Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland.

When applying, applicants choose when they would like to come to Rovaniemi.

The aim is to raise awareness of Rovaniemi as a summer holiday destination.
