Berkshire, England: Working feverishly behind the scenes at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is a talented team of Model Makers and for the very first time this summer guests can meet them and learn the tricks of the LEGO brick trade at a new Model Making Studio Zone.
The new exciting area – situated above the LEGO Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display – gives guests a peek into the Model Maker’s Studio where they can see the team at work. And every day one of them will take a break from brick building for Q&A sessions and demonstrations. Also on display are some amazing pieces from the archives including original wooden LEGO toys from the 1930s, stunning LEGO artworks recreating masterpieces like The Mona Lisa and The Scream, mosaics and busts of legendary celebrities and miniature hats by The Queen’s milliner created to celebrate Royal Ascot modeled by 10cm tall members of the Royal Family.
There’s even a LEGO brick mould that is capable of creating 2880 bricks an hour and more fascinating facts than you could shake a Minifigure at. Who knew that there are more Minifigures in existence than there are people living in Europe, or that the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Model Makers are out in the Park inspecting 4,500 models every morning and making any essential repairs?
And of course, across the Resort guests can enjoy the fruits of the Model Makers labours – the latest being a recreation of the Great British Bake Off in Miniland featuring the iconic Bake Off tent and workbenches down to every last little detail as well as the judges, presenters and all of the past winners. The Model Making Studio Zone is open now and every day until November*.
