York, UK: The York Dungeon is pleased to announce that the spine-chilling ‘Jack the Ripper’ show will be extended throughout September due to its huge success over the summer holidays.
Helen Douglas, General Manager, explains; “The ‘Where’s Jack Show’ has prompted over 25% of our guests to visit over the school holidays which is a great result for one of the twelve shows here at the Dungeon. With recent revelations, it is widely believed that Kosminski – one of the six key suspects in the Ripper case was the actual killer. This new evidence has brought the legacy of Jack the Ripper back to life.”
With the upcoming anniversary of the death of Mary Ann Nichols, murdered August 31st 1888, the first of the Canonical five Ripper victims, we are offering guests a ripper of a deal – a massive 50% saving off individual admission for a limited period only.
Jack the Ripper terrorized the streets of Victorian London for four months in 1888, before vanishing without a trace. It is widely believed that he traveled to York to prevent capture and continue his murderous activities.
Who was Jack?! Where did he go and did he strike again? Visitors will get the latest insight from Sidney the newspaper seller as well as hearing the latest word on the street from Ann McDonald – a local ‘Working Girl’.
Watch out for jumps, screams and spine-chilling fun presented in The York Dungeon’s inimitable style.
All visitors will also receive a free collectible ‘Vintage’ newspaper*, dishing all the dirt on Jack the Ripper.
As part of the experience at one of York’s must-see attractions, thrill-seekers can also enjoy a 75-minute journey through 2,000 years of York’s dark history. Guided by a full cast of actors, visitors will walk through The Dungeon, moving from show to show. Shows are based on York’s real history (minus the boring bits) where you can get up close and personal with local legends including Eric Bloodaxe and Dick Turpin.
