Efteling theme park opens its doors to the public for Symbolica

Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands: Efteling visitors can enjoy the new covered 35 million euros family attraction Symbolica. This trackless dark ride is the most expensive project ever in Efteling.

“We have tried to build a differentiating family attraction, especially to celebrate Efteling’s 65th anniversary. And to now see that whole families come to Efteling for a ride in Symbolica is very moving. And I am not just speaking for myself, but especially on behalf of all the people who were involved with the construction of this phenomenal attraction”, says Fons Jurgens, Chairman of Efteling’s Board of Directors.

The construction of Symbolica started on January 11, 2016. This is an astounding palace in which nothing is what it seems. Everyone is invited for an audience with the king. Magic Jester Pardoes ensures that a visit is surprising and enchanting. Visitors are led through secret corridors and royal apartments while continuously being amazed.

Efteling opened in 1952, over the years has grown to become one of Europe’s biggest theme parks, with a unique fairytale atmosphere, natural surroundings and a wide range of thrilling and enchanting attractions. It is now ranked in the top 25 theme parks in the world, according to the Tea Theme Index 2016.

This theme park  is open all year round, and makes an ideal family short-break destination with the Efteling Hotel, Holiday Park Efteling Bosrijk and Holiday Park Efteling Loonsche Land just a stone’s throw away. Through a programme of phased growth over the coming years, Efteling aims to become an international destination with five million visitors per year by 2020.
