Nimtofte, Denmark: The Investments of more than 40 million EUR in new themed rides of Amusement park helped the growth of visitors at Djurs Sommerland. After attracting a record number of 801.593 visitors in 2015, the park is on track to experience further growth in 2016 when a new pirate ride costing 2.7 million EUR.

Djurs Sommerland has the biggest roller coasters in Denmark, the most popular among them are  Piraten , Skatteøen  and Juvelen. “Last year, Juvelen which is an Intamin double launch coaster and Rapid River Ride were the most popular rides in the park. The new Farmerland area with 10 new rides was also extremely popular,” says Henrik B. Nielsen, CEO of Djurs Sommerland.

In 2016, there will once again be new and exciting experiences for all the family at Djurs Sommerland, with visitors being invited on a pirate raid on this year’s new ride, Søulken – an investment of 2.7 million EUR. On Søulken, visitors will have to hold on tight to the rail as the boats are tossed around on the merciless Caribbean waves, all while canon fire resounds in the ears of the fierce pirates and brave sailors.

“We’ve been looking for a new family ride that offers a unique experience. In Søulken, we’ve found a ride that is sure to be among visitor favourites if its popularity in theme parks abroad is anything to go by. This new attraction is a fun ‘thrilling ride’ for older children, but also for children as young as 5–6 years old and of course their parents. We expect it to be a hit among families with children,” explained Mr. Nielsen.

Mr Nielsen continues: “As well as Søulken, we’re also going to invest a million in new service and eating facilities to ensure we’re ready to welcome even more visitors.”

Djurs Sommerland has a pay one price setup. In 2016 price will be 250 Danish Krone in the low season and 270 Danish Krone in the high season. Children 0-2 years have free entry. “A large open area with trees, flowers and grass creates a very nice and relaxed atmosphere in the park. This combined with the large number and high quality of rides makes it a fairly ‘unique’ experience” added Mr Nielsen.

Djurs Sommerland will remain operational from April 30 to October 23. The aqua park will function from June 4 to August 21.  Concluding with Magical Halloween from October 15 to 23 the park will round off the 2016 season.
