Best Amusement Park Worldwide’ for the Third Time in a Row

“Best things come in threes” is an old saying and in this case quite rightly. The ceremonial act, which recognises the best theme parks and attractions, took place on 9 and 10 September 2016 in the US theme park Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. In the awards’ 19th year, experienced international experts in the theme park and rollercoaster industry were once again invited to cast their vote for their favourites in 25 different categories. Europa-Park was repeatedly crowned the winner in the category ‘Best Amusement Park Worldwide’.

As in previous years, the family company from Rust, Baden-Württemberg, was able to stand up to the strong international competition. The mix and variety of rides for the young and the old, the innovative ‘Coastiality’ concept with VR glasses, which Europa-Park has been offering its guests on two rollercoasters as the first theme park in the world since September 2015, the 23-hour show programme, the detailed theming, the excellent restaurants and the lavish themed hotels were all contributing factors to the park’s success.

Miriam Mack, the wife of Europa-Park´s managing partner Michael Mack, received the award personally in the USA. At the awards ceremony she declared: “We are endlessly proud to receive this distinction for the third time in a row. The prize is a wonderful recognition and crowns this year.”

In 2016, Germany’s largest theme park has already been delighted to receive a whole host of high-calibre awards. In July, Europa-Park founder Roland Mack was honoured with the German Founders Award for his lifetime achievement in Berlin − the highest award for outstanding entrepreneurs in Germany. The world’s largest travel website, TripAdvisor, announced Europa-Park as the Season 2016

‘Most Popular Theme Park’ in Germany and Europe. With the back to back ‘Golden Ticket Awards’ and the appointment to the ‘Best Amusement Park Worldwide’ since 2014, Europa-Park is now preparing for Halloween and the final sprint of this year´s summer season.

Europa-Park will be open in the 2016 summer season from 19 March to 6 November from 9am to 6pm daily (longer opening hours during peak season).
